Carrot is a winter season crop cultivated throughout the world for its fleshy edible roots. Carrot is major vegetable crop & great source of vitamin A. Carrot juice is a rich source of carotene and is sometimes used for colouring food articles. Carrots have many medicinal properties & are also used in Ayurvedic medicine.

Carrots are straightforward to grow from seed, taking up little space, and can even be grown in containers. Sow small batches regularly from early spring onwards, for harvests almost all year round.
