Lime

Limes are varieties of Citrus closely related to oranges and lemons. They grow on attractive, ornamental evergreen trees, usually reaching a height of up to 1.5-1.8m (5-6ft). These are often sold trained as standard trees.

lime is sold in both domestic and international markets, and is favoured by the food service industry. It has a wide variety of culinary uses and is also used in the manufacture of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.


Lime trees need a warm, sunny, sheltered position outdoors in summer and a well-lit position indoors for autumn, winter and spring preferably a cool greenhouse or conservatory.
